Golden Corral - Veterans not served their free meal on Veterans Day!
Claremore, Oklahoma, Veterans were turned away and told they would have to come back on Monday for their free meal. Company states that the Veterans Day free meal is served on the Monday following the day observed as the National holiday.
Veterans had family members coming from all over the country to watch the parade and take their beloved Veteran out for their free meal to be turned away. Some Veterans went back to their home at the local Veterans Center, unable to enjoy that free meal they had been looking forward to, while others Veterans paid FULL price for their meal so they could spend some time with their family. Trays were left at the register! People were turning away at the door!
When a local ABATE member called in to complain on behalf of all Veterans and stated that they do not keep the Toys For Tots an extra week after Christmas for delivery, he was chastised by a fellow ABATE member whom the Golden Corralย manager called because they were close friends. Defend your Veterans and let Golden Corral know their business is doing NO SERVICE to deny those Veterans their FREE meal ON THE OBSERVED holiday!!!
Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

This is the way Golden Corral has done the Military Monday for 15 years. Remember THEY STARTED this whole program to get our Vet's recognized.
So I do not think Griping about it will make thing better. Shame on you!!!
First of All everyone needs to understand Golden Corral was the FIRST to feed an REMEMBER our vets. Also they raised over 10 million dollars for our Vets.
Now you are on this *** website complaining that you I repeat YOU screwed up and went in on the wrong day...even though it has been posted at every location for weeks before the event...
WOW!!! have a little gratitude and respect... if it wasn't for them you would be worse off than you already are don't you think. Look it is real simple call next time and remember they remembered you and are willing to help.
Sorry you had a bad experience... but at least they raised tons of cash for our troops in need.
God Bless Them!!!
same here in Charlotte.......went to dine, told "not today but the 17th".......unthinkable...not nice to fool veterans!!!!
Golden Corral has always celebrated on a separate day to allow a second opportunity for the vets to be recognized. For 13 years now!!!
The company as a whole has collected $8.8 million dollars of donations and given 4.1 million free meals.
They have sent 7200 kids to Camp Corral for free!!
Unbelievable how ungrateful some people are!!
It seemed pretty wrong as I watched a Vet in his wheel chair, with his eldrerly veteran father, and family, discuss if they should leave, since it wasn't free as expected. I paid for their meal, but it seemed wrong. It's something they should look to change.
not ungrateful.....just think the date should have been advertised much better.
