My wifes mother and stepfather eat at Golden Corral every week and would like for me and her to join them but my wife had weight loss surgery and so she cant eat a lot of food. We asked a member of management if she could pay for a kids meal since she had the surgery and we told them that she had a card to show them about her surgery and the manager said no that there was nothing that they could do for her and that if she wanted to eat there it would be the regular price. I dont understand why your company want work with people who have had this surgery and who have the proof that they have had the surgery.

Management Harassed and Accosted me
Lets start by laying the foundation for this horrific event. I own a mechanic shop in sherman tx.
I have a customer whom is currently dissatisfied that works at Golden Corral in sherman. My family and I (includes my 2-4 year old grand children) went to dinner. Nothing derogatory was spoken between myself and this certain employee. No bad looks, nothing of the sort.
Out of now were management approached my table, namely A. Alma stating that she was a friend of our customer and that he wanted his money back and we would then need to call her from then on out. She approached our table alone. I was in shock it was very embarrassing and totally inappropriate.
As she stood in front of my plate setting I awkwardly stood behind her holding my salad while she addressed my husband. To take things in all consideration, my family of aprox 7 set dumb founded at this scene. She used her position as management to address our table standing above my husband while he was seated I feel giving more of a power, bully stance. Still standing behind her holding my plate I said R.S.
use me a little gruff. Set my plate down but remained standing. I asked what this was in reference to and she reintirated that she was there on behalf of her friend. Her friend had told her that a gun was pulled at the mechanic shop weeks prior.
( I then told her that was total nonesene, that this conversation had nothing to do with her or Golden Corral and most definitely should not nor will be discussed any further in this setting period. Mrs Alma then stated she was calling the police. By this point my family had abruptly ended there meal. Leaving witness to my grand children, my 4 year old grand daughter reacting shes calling the cops on us.
I then called the police dept myself and explained this unethical, unnecessary behavior. They said no reason for them to come out as no laws had been broken. Alma refunded my money aprox $80-$90. I then left only to return asking to speak with different member of management.
Only to be told she was the one in charge. I asked for an incident report as I felt this should be reported. I was told they did not have one. Since then Kim the district manager has returned my phone call stating that Mes Alma was translating for her employee that in fact this is a normal business practice.
At the table she was speaking Spanish. I advised her that in fact Mrs. Alma was not translating as she had came along, she merely was passing a message and furthermore no translation was needed as the employee our customer spoke English as did my husband.
This was Terris le I most deffently feel as though anyone in a management position should not abuse the the position. Translating if it was needed is not her job description seeing as this was my mechanic shops business

My husband and I have not been to a Golden Corral since we left Florida 5 years ago. We found one and were excited about getting breakfast.
Our waitress Dimond was having a very nice conversation with us and we can hear some voices raising. Everyone looking over.
Let me start with when we walked in and Alexis was all smiles and so nice even in this rain yucky day. Sitting down eating and the raising voices started. The costumer who came in was being rude to Alexis and just not necessary at all.
She asked him to stop and he kept going being rude this is the point where The OWRNER came out, the owner whom I was just joking at the food counter was being just mean and it was in front of everyone. You could tell he was just being MEAN!!! You could not hear exactly what he was saying, but you could tell her was being just plain MEAN!!! Alexis just was in shock, and she asked several times if he was serious, to the point of where she swore at him again asking if he was serious.
This again all being done in front of customers.
He sent her out in the pouring rain she had no car, no one to pick her up yet, and he didn't care. Then he went as far as to go and sit with the customer who was just so mean and rude to Alexis, he went and sat and was joking with him and his friends. Poor poor poor way to take care of ur employees if $11 is worth disrespecting your employees, I do not think I will be returning to this or any golfer corral again. I would like a call back to be sure this will be handled and something will be done.
This is a sad situation. So many ppl nowadays don't want to work and to have a person come to work and be that peppy and happy and greet customers that way and then to be treated the way she was is extremely sad. Then for the customers to watch the OWNER go over to the guy and laugh and joke makes it look like it is ok to be disrespectful to ur employees and he doesn't care about his employees at all!!
Minus 5 stars, so sad.

Also so sorry Alexis that your grandmother passed away and that you came in the day to cover a Shift for someone else and you were treated like that. Shame on the owner!!!

I’m going to offer what probably is an unpopular opinion. I feel that it’s up to your fellow members of the dining group to be respectful of someone’s dietary requirements.
I think it is extremely insensitive to decide on a buffet when someone’s eating is surgically restricted. Those cards should not be allowed either.

Unfortunately with how litigious a lot of people are the manager’s hands are tied. While your wife had no problem showing the card, a lot of people would.
And to be honest, the restaurant cannot ask for documentation on a health condition.
There are individual adult meals between $9-$10. Her best bet is to get one of those and take any leftovers home.
100% agree. I also think they should choose another restaurant like Cheddar’s.
It has a wide variety of food and also a children’s menu. If her parents go to Golden Corral every week, changing it up to accommodate the daughter’s needs shouldn’t be a big deal.
