Disappointed

The female at the cash register was very rude...did not get a "hello" or any kind of acknowledgement except for "you can pay right here". There is a sign after you pay that says "please wait to be seated" which my family did. (and waited and waited) Several other customers start to pile up behind us and a worker says "oh seat yourself". I do have to say, the food was lousy! I was excited to try this place out due to all the hype it first received when opening. Never again will I go back nor will I suggest Golden Corral to anyone. The food, service and cleanliness was horrible.

it had been 2 years since we have eaten there due to bad restaurant conditions like being filthy and having cheap food. we eat there last night on Saturday 12-1-12. well, we was not impressed this time around either. they charge way too much for supper prices, the food is cheep cheep cheep - not good quality at all. the steak is low grade, and ours was not cooked at all it was red and bloody, and they said it was well done, could not eat it. the place has a very poor quality and quantity cold bar - not much of anything at it, especially fresh fruit, very cheap. was not impressed with the desert bar either, we don't go there to just eat cotton candy and to lick off the chocolate wonder fall, very cheap. the tables, plates, and utensils were cleaner than what is normal, i was amazed, i bet that does not happen too often. supper prices are per adult ( 10.69 + 1.99 for drinks ) = $12.68 + tip = too *** much!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for quantity and quality of food. me, my husband, and my son costed $40.17 + tip = not going back there for supper ever again. lunch prices are fine, we will only eat there for lunch, there steak is not Applebees. if you want steak, i recommend a good steak house like Applebees or somewhere similar in quality, this place sucks. another thing i hate about this place is it is crowded - elbow to elbow, and it feels gross being in that stuffy condition; with some people having hygiene problems. ( there really needs to be more buffets out there to eat at - and please, no more Asian buffets - they serve shi* food. we need more down home cookin' buffets to come our way to stay). EditDelete

yes, and nothing stays in business long, it comes and goes. maybe there is more going on with buffets being run out of town and golden corral gets to stay. We loved Ryans.

You seem to expect an awful lot for the price. You can bet you won't get any kind of drink for $1.99 at Applebee's. It seems like it takes an awful lot to make you happy.

Manager and owner

They used to have fried Breaded Shrimp like advertised on TV. When going into the resturant there is a sign posted, showing breaded shrimp, reading all you can eat. Well when you try to get them, they tell you that they don't have them at all and if you want any shrimp you have to have pop corn shrimp or Jalepeno jumbo and sometimes butterfly shrimp. They advertise breaded fried shrimp to get people in there and then tell them that they don't honor or participate in the program of shrimp. That is false advertising if I have ever seen it. The manager says the owner won't let him give out the shrimp without hot sauce on it. Bull ***, we came in there because it is advertised right befor the cashier. If you ask them they say yes we have it. When you get in there, it is another story. I know everytime I am in there at least 4 or 5 people is complaining about it. Still the problem is still there. I am going up to Old Country Buffett because they have it and will give it to you whatever way you want it. Clean up the Vineland store before lyou loose plenty of business. Loads of people have left there already. The owner seems to not care about his customers. I'm pissed off.

First I got half cooked chicken that my 3 year old grand daughter ate some of.Called the managertried to tell me that all the chicken is temp.I said apparently not propper temp.for servering chicken is 165.It is impossible to have raw chicken at this temp.Second they were cleaning the grill while food was out,srapping it with food on less than six inches away.soapy solutiion being used on grill with food out.Does anybody in this place knowH.A.C.P.rules.I am very upset. :( :cry :( :( :( :(

ok first it is HACCP, not HACP. And it has NOTHING to do with what you are talking about.

Please if you are going to leave a post, at least try not to come out looking like a ***. HACCP is all about the cycle of food and tracking it through the process to insure proper time/temperature control.

It has nothing to do with cleaning a grill. Do all restaurateurs a favor and eat at home.

Excessive heat

back part of the restraunt was so hot coustomers was complanning,cealing fans was not on,it was measerable,when asked the mananger to cut it down,we were told the corporate mgr got on to them n couldnt,told us we couldmove we had a farley largegroup not enough seats for everyone in group,we would had to been split up,we asked again about the cealing fans, the manager woulnt even consider cutting them on,i asked for a refound on our meal,he said since we were in to our meal he couldnt refund,i expressed my thouts

Sick of whining *** customers!!

As a GC employee i get sick of seeing these f'd up reviews!! How many of u jerks stop and think of what we go through to get food on the bars??? U people allow your kids to play in food everyone has to eat!!U people cross contaminate the food taking tongs and spoons from other products. U pigs lick your fingers and touch EVERYTHING!! FIRST OF ALLpeople I lost my job at GC couple days ago.. Sheriville Indiana Horrible management disorganized care more about controlling the enviroment then customer service i been serving for 11 years..

and they are more worried about us doing this or that then taking care of our tables.. CONSTANT COMPLAINTS FOOD being cold.. they want us to keep stuff clean but there office looks like a pig pen human Resources lady is married to the General Manager.. Managers Yell at us in front of customers..

Too bad that Service people can not own up to their mistakes! In the case of this ASSOCIATE a classic defense is to respond with a BIGGER and nastier complaint, instead of saying "sorry, we will try to get better" and "thank you for caring"

Spent over 30 years in the service and hospitality industry, left when I noticed the "I know everything" managers being hired, I found they were telling (without a word) to their staff that it was "OK to DEFEND yourself from the demanding customers"

Service? How about learning what the work means!!

There was hair in the ice cream, and the manager on duty refused to take action

Approximately 3 weeks ago, my wife and I was eating in Golden Coral in Conyers, Georgia. I was getting ice cream and a hair was in the mix. I brought it to the attention of our server, She took the bowl to the manager on duty. He made one comment and ask two questions to the server. He said it was probably in the bowl and not the ice cream. he ask if we were regular customers and if we wanted to speak to him. We eat and have eaten in Golden Coral every day for over a year except Sundays. I am very disappointed that the manager wouldn't have the courtesy to at least come and speak to us. He did no drain and clean the ice cream machine and that is not sanitary and definitely a poor manager. I haven't had an opportunity to speak to the general manager. I have managed businesses for years. I believe a manager with any concern for the business or customers would have made himself available to the customer and not sent a message back to them by a server. I also believe the ice cream machine should have been emptied clean and refilled with fresh mix. Thanks for your time.

Arrived at olden Coral in Buford Georgia for lunch. Went because they usually have the best salad bar.

Today it tasted off...couldn't figure out if it was dressing or bacon. I abandoned salad for a piece of baked chicken. The first *** of chicken was very good. Then I made the mistake of taking a couple of bites of potatoes...the third ***...I thought was a clump of potatoes ...as I bit into it...I found out it was a balled up GLOVE.

Yes..a glove. Very bad for someone with a latex allergy. When I took it to the mamager he told me it was no big deal just a piece of blastic off the bag the potaotes were in. That really upset me.

Then I grabbed it off the plate and shook it out and. Demanded to know if that was a bag...how come it looks like a glove? I had to demand my money back and we left immediately. I got to thinking...what was that glove used for?...cleaning the floor...bussing dirty dishes...it was obviously balled up as it was pulled off someones hand...what was on their hands?

Was it used for something really gross like cleaning the floors or bathrooms...I mean if they lose track of an entire glove how can they assure me where it was used...before it was used as a mashed potato ingredient. Also...just one last thought...wonder if I should get tested for something?

Seems crazy but until you have put a balled up used glove discuised as mashed potatoes in YOUR mouth...you'll not completely understand. I will NEVER EVER NEVER go there again.

Person who takes drinks order

The person who took the drinks order at the Golden Corral in Waco TX her name tag read Maria, time was lunch time around 12pm on February 26 2013. She more or less demanded what drink we wanted in a very very rude tone, and to every body in our group. Then when we were paying there was another group behind us and she went to the other cash register to help speed up the line but while doing this she spoke in a really loud tone "EXCUSE ME!" To my husband because he was standing in between the two registers trying to get out his wallet. She was VERY rude and needs to be taught some decent costumer service!!

Threats. Intimidation. Embarrassment.

My wife and I left the Golden Corral on Normandy promptly 2 weeks ago due to a dead roach on the table and the server left her pitchers of drink on our table causing a constant disruption. After which we called and kept the receipt for proof. I called today wishing to return and spoke with a manager named Sandra. She quickly explained to me that if my wife did not have the sense to tell them when we were there, that there was nothing she could do. I questioned why they would want someone to discuss a dead roach in front of their guests and told her that we were being polite in calling. Again, there is nothing she can do though we were able to show the receipt and then she hung up in my face. I felt at that time that it was prudent for me to then follow their protocol and drive 30 miles to walk in and discuss it with her. I nicely introduced myself to her and told her that I was there to discuss the dead roach on my table as she requested. The crowd was shocked at her response. Did she ask me to sit? No. I was then asked to leave, to which I responded that I was leaving peacefully and walked toward the exit saying nothing. I was not given that opportunity as an armed guard rushed at me, ushered me to the door and walked me to my car. I then asked are you the police? No response. I then asked as we were walking if he were armed and he said, Yes but I don't need to be. And smiled at me. As we were walking to my car I took a pic of him outside standing in front of my car, and he actually told me that I cannot and tried to take my phone. I explained that there was no expectation of privacy outdoors and that he could not. I never raised my voice or touched anyone. I was intimidated and embarrassed in the community that I live in.

Her replacement Dave Imhof is similarly incompetent. They fired the security guard, but Imhof CALLED THE POLICE on a customer who only wanted items on the salad and food bars refilled.

He told the family to leave (but refused to refund their money), then when they refused, pulled two IMPD cops off their beat. They had a good laugh with the customer at Imhof's expense and every customer within eye and earshot was mortified at Golden Corral's "customer service."

Obviously they don't care about that location at all.

So mad right now I don't even grammar grrr

This place had very good first impressions on me, the parking lot was full and the price was reasonable. In fact, it was almost cheap. After paying and receiving our drinks, we approached the table where all the clean plates and utensils are held. Plastic plates and aluminium forks, dafuq? Upon closer inspection, the "clean" plates/forks were not even properly washed, crusty leftovers from other people's mouths still remained. Whatever, we wiped all the congealed food mass off our plates and forks and piled on food. Good selection, all seems good. When we actually sat down to eat, we were convinced that half of the food came from cans, while the other half were discarded leftovers from other restaurants. The fried fish had a hint of mothballs and soap in it. Delightful. I have never put TV dinners in the oven to cook before, but I imagined this is what it would taste like. High quality ***. Before long, we decided we wanted desert to wash out the taste of high school cafeteria food. They had a few generic pastries there like pies and cinnamon buns that I dared not taste, for fear they might taste like the other foods. The Chocolate Wonderfall looked promising from a distance, but if you looked into the chocolate you could see bits of mystery food and other garbage. I ended up having the non sugar cherry gelatine, which was the best *** thing I ate all night. If I had to summarize my experience in this place it would be "oh god why, never again, somebody kill me with a lawn chair, save yourself and never eat the fish"

Being fired for breaking policy..should go for all employees

confused! I was fired for a secret shopper/ breaking policy..my general manager was allowed to keep her job after breaking company policy and allowing people she knew that were not employees to come in and clean the kitchen and were paid $50 each along with $ 50 in free food cards.

Managers are not allowed to associate outside of work with employees but yet she took one(not a mgr) to mertle beach.

She was not repremanded either for getting in my face and telling me to shut the f$#@ up in front of customersaround the steak bar! Unfair treatment!!!

Agree totally...the Easley Sc location is the same...one specific server is allowed to run the store as he pleases and pick and choose whom gets hours.The other servers are scared not to do as he says due to lack of hours as well as a always having slow area.General Manager,District Manager and Corporate has becen contacted.Love my job and I don't feel that anyone person should be scared to say anything to management due to fearing yhat upper management will go directly to this employees and he then will know who said something about a problem and will abe tread unfairly.

Table Landing, and them saying i could leave and next day said i walked out.. FIRED actually it was a personal vandetta between one of the managers. she told us ten min before close we got to clean all chair legs!!! I got an attitude ..

then the constant nagging!! and Disorganized constant complaints by customers..

Former employee, fired for no reason and management was rude and inconsiderate.

Hello, As a former employee of Golden Corral, I was very offended by the general operation of business. First off, the management was fine for me, until we had a new General Manager on board. Per regulation, we are to clean the kitchen every night. However, when he came on board, the business and operations turned sour. The kitchen was told to be left "as it stood" (code for messy as h*ll)I was fired for reasons that they did not tell me. I came in twice and demanded to be told, and was marked as "late or not present for work". I promptly showed them my schedule which I followed and told him that I had showed up for every day.He denied this and I just walked out. To customers, if you like the banana pudding, I wouldn't eat it. In the bakery, we where made to use rotten bananas and told to deny the customers bags or anything extra for cotton candy.However, I do have a strong sense of morality and customer appreciation ,so I distributed them when the customer asked. My mother and I ate at Golden corral in new Boston,ohio two times one time was on Thanksgiving. The food was cold. the manager was told about this problem he did nothing said nothing just laughed when I said the only food that was good was the salad. This is the second time this has happened. He didn't offer no assistance no remarks. No money was reimbursed. He just went on his way and didn't seem to care about this problem. I will not go back to Golden corral no more and eat cold food and be laughed at.

Golden Corral in Joplin mean to a Veteran!

My father is a veteran been in two wars and is a older gentleman that is friendly and has a great sense of humor. ON several occasion this restaurant has been rude to him wouldn't let him have a piece of steak at 10 to four even though he paid a dinner price!! when he told the employee who was cooking the steak that it smelt good what was it the employee responded RAW MEAT! He replied I'm so hungry I could eat raw meat the employee told him not till four! it was 3:50 and like I stated before he paid the dinner price! GOLDEN CORRAL You can kiss my business GOOD BYE!!!!!!! 14 dollars for your bland tasteless food is *** anyway! in other words YOU WONT BE MISSED!!!! But you will miss my business!
